Thanks for explaining this because I have asked tons of people as to what the plus and minus signs mean and all I get is "I dont really know….uh? I think its " blah blah blah The next question I have is, why are the minuses considered the favorites over the pluses and how is that interpreted?
"Of course you get back the original money that you bet". You just threw that in as an afterthought but that subject really needed to be explained better.
wait so lets just say colts vs jets if i pick moneyline -500 colts but i bet my 1,000 and it said payout 1,190 so do i make that 1,190 profit or they basically said here goes your 1,000 back but here is 190 cuz you won this bet …. let me know asap if you can 🤝?
The part I don’t understand is why would someone want to bet 120 just to get 100 back? What’s the point of that when you can still lose 20 dollars in the difference?
i prefer to wager on games where the odds are 70/30 for winning the jackpot, my way. and thats worst case scenario. otherwise i won't play.
Exactly the explanation I was looking for. Thanks for the info
Nice concise explanation!!
So if -120 means pay $120 to win $100, then isn't that a loss of $20?
Why would you ever bet on the negative then?
word
That was very helpful. After watching this I think gambling is at the very least a careless endeavor to make relatively little money.

What if it's -250?
Nice simple explanation. I finally know now what the numbers mean.
GREAT WORK
Great explanation+👍
American betting odds system are worst in the world. In UK, Asia and Australia it is far more simple and clear
Thank you for being concise ❤️
Nice. Time for sone Academy Award betting…
why would anyone take a negative odds bet?
This vid explains perfectly
"Of course you get back the original money that you bet". You just threw that in as an afterthought but that subject really needed to be explained better.
Then what would happen if i wanna put in $25 or a number like that?
That was super informative. Thank you.
Now I understand how the odds works
Could have done better, what is obvious to you might not be the case for a beginner.

Doesn't it affect the winnings if they win by 20 points instead of 1 point? Or does it not matter???
So if it's +410 then I bet 100 and I win 410 – 100 so it's 310 profit or is it 410 plus my 100 back???
I don't get why a simple well explained video has that many dislikes.
Not exactly what I need but it helped so thx
Your video sucks. Not only are you bored, but you don't explain where the (-120) is even placed or how that works. Fuck you.

Great video! Appreciate the breakdown
That's why betting can be addictive 😢
